At our shop, boots are more than just footwear—they’re a passion and a craft that we’ve dedicated ourselves to for decades. Since the late 1970s, we have specialized in resoling and repairing boots of all kinds, earning a reputation for quality and reliability in our community. Our master cobbler, George, brings over 40 years of hands-on experience to every pair he works on. Throughout his distinguished career, George has meticulously rebuilt and restored thousands of shoes and boots, developing an expert understanding of what techniques and materials stand the test of time. His keen eye for detail and commitment to excellence ensure that every repair is completed to the highest standard.

When it comes to recrafting your beloved Dr. Martens, we spare no expense in sourcing only the finest materials. We exclusively use premium Vibram soles, renowned for their durability, comfort, and superior grip, to give your Docs a new lease on life. Our careful craftsmanship and attention to detail often result in boots that are not just restored, but actually improved—many customers tell us their recrafted boots feel even better than when they were brand new.

We take great pride in the trust our local customers place in us. Many return time and again, bringing in their favorite boots for repair and sharing positive feedback about the quality of our work. Their loyalty and satisfaction are a testament to our expertise and dedication to the craft of boot repair—especially when it comes to Dr. Martens. Dr. Marten Repair & Resoling FAQs

Q: Do you have the original Doc Marten soles?
A:  Unfortunately, original Dr. Marten soles are no longer available in the United States and haven’t been since the early 2000s. The closest match is Vibram Gumlite (Gumlite is the material, not one specific tread pattern). Some customers ask about the Vibram 132 or Vibram 1136 soles—yes, we can install them, but they are not cushioned, and most people notice a significant difference compared to the classic Doc sole feel.
Q: What kind of soles do you resole Docs with?

A:   Our most popular and recommended replacement for Doc Marten boots and shoes is the Vibram Stowe 1705.

  • It has a lug look similar to the original Doc Marten profile

  • Great comfort, grip, and durability

  • A solid match for customers who want a classic appearance
If maximum durability is your goal, consider the Vibram 100 sole.

Q: Do you sell the original cushioned insoles?
A: No—original Doc Marten cushioned insoles are not available.
We do offer flat Spenco cushioned insoles (no arch support). Cost: $20.
Q: Do you patch/ resew the uppers?
Yes. We patch, re-sew, and repair Doc Marten uppers regularly. Email us photos of the boots and any problem areas—we check email daily.
Q: Do you repair Solovair boots?
A: Absolutely. We resole Solovair boots using the same Vibram options and pricing as our Dr. Marten resoles.
Q: Does the adhesive ever separate during wet, snowy weather?
A: Yes. We repair boots locally and by mail from all over the country.
Here in western Oregon, we get more than 50 inches of rain per year. If our adhesive failed in wet weather, we wouldn’t still be doing this work. Your resoles will hold up.
Q: Do you ship internationally?
A: Sorry—we currently ship within the USA only.
Q:  How do I start the mail-in repair process?

A:  Fill out and print our shipping form.  Take your boots and the shipping form to your nearest US Post Office and ship them to us. We’ll take care of the rest!
